The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-severity warning for Google Chrome users on desktop, stressing the urgency of updating their browsers due to critical security vulnerabilities.
In its latest advisory (CIVN-2024-0274), CERT-In has identified multiple flaws in Google Chrome that could be exploited by cyber attackers to gain control over users’ systems. These vulnerabilities, if left unpatched, may allow hackers to execute arbitrary code or initiate a denial-of-service (DoS) attack, potentially compromising the security and functionality of affected computers.
Given the severity of the threat, CERT-In strongly advises all Google Chrome users on desktop to update their browsers to the latest version without delay to safeguard their systems from these risks.
